Early spring in March spreads fragrant flowers everywhere. It’s the time to celebrate the annual Day of Learning from Leifeng on March 5th. In order to promote the spirit of Leifeng, the sodality of university students took joint efforts with Workers Support Center, administrative officers, HR department and public relations department and organized a Volunteer Activity of Cleaning the Factory. The workers who signed up voluntarily was going to clean the spoil area and recycling stations at Zhanqian Road. Meanwhile, this was the first time for administrative officers, HR department and public relations department to advocate holding sparetime activities on weekend. A large number of workers gave enthusiastic response to this activity.       

      Early in the morning, with great vigor, a large group of people gathered downstairs the dormitory building in the factory and took appliances for labour protection before heading to the destination. At first, we arrived at the spoil area where waste wood were stored. Because of the busy workdays and the lack of cleaning, the spoil area was littered with rubbish like waste paper, plastic bags and leaves. All colleagues took an active part in the jobs of cleaning, sharing out the work and cooperating with one another. Some swept the floor, some picked up the rubbish on the grass and others shoveled the waste on the mud. Despite of heavy dust and smoke, all colleagues fully and orderly engaged in cleaning the spoil area without any complaints. At this moment, I(the author) couldn’t help to feel great respect for Greatoo’s workers who dedicated themselves to serving the company without asking for any returns. Thanks to the efforts of all volunteers, the spoil area became clean soon and pleasure was seen on everyone’s face.

      Later, we went to the second destination-the recycling station, actually, an astounding rubbish bin. At the beginning, at the sight of piles of rubbish of various sizes and weights, all colleagues were at a loss. At this time, leaders began to organize male workers to carry away the large and weighty waste, while female workers cleaned the rubbish littered around. Some of the colleagues even picked up the rubbish on the grass by hands although it’s very dirty. After an hour, the recycling station turned to be clear.

      During the volunteer activities on the Day of Learning from Leifeng, although the colleagues from different department sweated and breathed deeply, bright smiles were seen on their faces. I am sure that every participant can actually feel at home in the activities and such feeling, in my opinion, originates from the responsibility to Greatoo and the duty as a worker in Greatoo. Here, I call on everyone to carry forward the spirit of Leifeng and take pleasure in helping others. At the same time, everyone should increase the awareness of environmental protection and work together to build a beautiful and happy Greatoo.
